In this "Bookworm" tour, we'll discuss the basic features of KeyBook, the book reader software on the BrailleNote.
Book Reader is, essentially, a read-only version of Word Processor - that is, any book that is opened is protected from accidental editing. This program handles popular Bookshare .bks books, as well as DAISY books from Bookshare and RFB&D (mPower and PK).
Here are the basic skills for KeyBook:
Tip: If it says, "review the options" or "review previous options," press ENTER again to open the book.
At this point, the book should be opened and the cursor should be at the last place you were at before you exited Book Reader.
Tip: To exit out of the current book, press SPACE with E/ESC. Or, to select another book, press SPACE with dots 1-2-5-6 (CTRL+Backslash on QT).
At the location you want to "drop" the bookmark, press BACKSPACE with D to open "define place marker" prompt. You can then type a letter between A through Z to place up to 26 bookmarks. After typing the letter, you are returned to the book you were reading.
To "jump" to a particular bookmark, at anywhere in the book, press SPACE with J (for Jump). BrailleNote says, "Jump to place marker. Letter?". Type the letter of the bookmark you want to jump, and KeyBook places the cursor at the location of the bookmark.
