Before we begin exploring features on the Braillenote, we need to make sure that we have correct date and time, or otherwise we would have wrong time or date.

Setting Date and Time can be done using Utilities Menu:

  1. Go to Main Menu (SPACE with dots 1-2-3-4-5-6 or Menu key on QT), then choose Utilities by pressing U.

  2. At the Utilities Menu, press spacebar to go to Date and Time Set (or press D). A new prompt, "Date Format" should be displayed.

  3. At the "Date Format" prompt, choose USA format (S) if you want to display date as month, date and year. If you want to display the date as date, month and year, select UK format (K) then press ENTER.

  4. At the "Time Format" prompt, select 12 hour format (1) if you want to have AM and PM notifications. If you want to have 24 hour format, choose "24 hour" (2) then press ENTER.

  5. Next, at the time zone prompt, select the time zone that you are in. For example, if you are in Pacific time, press P for Pacific then press ENTER. Alternatively, to step through time zones, press SPACE with dots 3-4 (CTRL+SPACE on QT) until you see/hear the desired time zone, then press ENTER to continue.

  6. The next prompt is concerned with Daylight Savings Time. If you live in an area where this is enforced, press Y at the "Daylight Saving Time" prompt. If not, press N, then press ENTER to continue.

  7. The next two prompts deals with date and time itself. At the "Time" prompt, type the time as number sign, hour, colon, minutes, space, then a for AM or p for PM then press ENTER. For example, if the current time is 5:05 PM, type number sign, 5, colon, zero, five, space then p; press ENTER to continue.

  8. Next, at the "Date" prompt, type the date as number sign, month, number sign, date, number sign, year then press ENTER. If you selected UK format, month and day is reversed. For example, if the current date is October 9, 2007, type number sign, 10, number sign, 9, number sign, 2007 then ENTER. You are done setting up date and time.
